We visited OTOP market near Ashlee hub hotel in Patong. It is a street food cum night market which also has a separate area where there are a cluster of canopy shaped bar counters that are colorfully lit during the night. The place is quiet during the day, but from afternoon to late at night it is a busy street food market. there is a range of fish, shrimp, chicken, crab fries available, and also other food from noodles, rice, dumplings, soup, and fresh fruit juices. we tasted fish fries and mango juice that was prepared in front of us. We then headed for Malin plaza and Dragon market which were around 15 mins walk from there. On the way we came accross Central and Jungcelyon shopping malls and the famous Bangla road in Phuket. After reaching Malin Plaza we found that it was a semi organised market wher you get everything from street food, to groceries, to seafood, and even souvenirs and clothing. prices of the items are cheaper compared to otop market and it is recommended to come here for shopping and street food. Then we went to our final destination Dragon market which is opposite Malin Plaza. Dragon Market is Also a street food market that starts from evening and stays till late night. this place is less noisy and has a calm atmosphere and lots of street food options to choose from. Here we tried the famous ice cream roll popular in Thailand. The vendor made the ice cream rolls in front of us. He mixed the liquid ingredients on top a freezing disc using two spatulas. His hand movements were very fast. and then we finally had our ice cream rolls.
