@Subsaibot25267 years ago It's not the bugs themselves that get to me its the psychological scarring they leave behind. Constantly looking over your shoulder, looking at your walls and ceiling just waiting to see a dot where one wasn't a few minutes ago. Not being able to sleep peacefully because you think one might be in bed with you the fact that they feed while you're sleeping is the worst they get you when you're most vulnerable. You can't sit and relax in your favorite chair because you've seen them there too. You keep getting told that you need to throw out all your furniture but you can't afford new furniture and if you got used furniture you might as well be welcoming the fact that they could be infesting that as well. The vicious cycle is only made more due to the fact that the price to get rid of these things are so high. Every exterminator I've spoken to has told me it'll cost a bloody fortune a fortune I nor my family has we scrape by as it is. And the judging people always think you're disgusting when they don't understand that even a super clean and tight knit person can get these things and when you see one there's always more and the horror show begins. So it's not the bugs that get me they're just doing what instinct has them programmed to do but it's the psychological damage they do to a person just by being them. It's amazing how a tiny little thing can wreak so much havoc on a person. ... 1688

@dragonore20095 years ago In all honesty to get rid of bed bugs you have to be really aggressive and highly dedicated. I had a bed bug problem some time ago when I was renting a room that had them. The landlord was cool about it and did what he could and sprayed for them, but in the end if I wanted them gone, I needed to be aggressive.
Just like in the video, I bagged up all my clothes, and bedding and laundered them and dried on high heat for 30 minutes after the clothes were dry. As far as my other stuff, I would meticulously search for any bed bug evidence (them hiding) and either throw that item out or clean or if possible heat that item. Once I determined no evidence of bed bugs I would then seal my things in air tight containers. After the landlord sprayed the room, I went in and bug bombed the room (I realize pest control people don't recommend this, but that is what I did). I covered the bottom of the door with a throw away towel so none would escape. Beforehand I made sure no furniture touched the walls and all the drawers were empty and are pulled out. The next day (after work) I would steam everything. I would steam the plats, headboard, box spring, mattress which took me five to six hours to do, since I went really slow. During the next coming days and weeks I would repeat this process, steaming, laying out DE everywhere, bug bombing, laying some pesticides. I was so hardcore and dedicated to the cause ridding them that I gave myself no time to enjoy music, watch a move or nothing.
While others in the house were doing their own thing enjoying their day, I spend all of my off time dealing with the issue, literally. I was so dedicated to the problem that after three weeks the room was bed bug free. The moral of the story is this, you can get rid of them, but you have to be really dedicated, at least that was my experience. Perhaps I was too dedicated.

@miyajay29844 years ago Ive been suffering from bed bugs for atleast 6months now. They are the most annoying things ever but remember these following points:
    1) although they do bite, they dont cause fatal harm or diseases
    2) with persistence and consistency they will eventually disappear
So far I have replaced all my mattresses and beds (3bedroom house), I have encased all my new mattresses,i steam clean everyday, i used alcohol sprays, i iron all my clothes before putting them in my cupboard, and they are still there!! BUT.. they have decreased dramatically, i will NOT stop until they are completely gone. I have now ordered the pyrethin sprays, and climbing intercepters and powders. Im confident these will help! Thank u so much for your tips.
To all my fellow bedbug sufferers.. DONT GIVE UP.. dont let them win!!

@rhinehartd9 years ago I spent six, seven months being tormented by a single bedbug that followed me home after I made the mistake of setting foot in a grimy part of downtown Los Angeles. One night after being bitten dozens of times, I lost it and flipped over my mattress, only to see the bedbug perched on it in plain sight. I grabbed the nearest object within arm's reach, which turned out to be a tube of anti-insect bite ointment, and used it to smash the bedbug into a bloody pulp. The bites ceased completely after that. ... 92

@moonchild87335 years ago Thank you so much for this much needed video. I know someone who's been fighting them for 2 Year's now. They have tried everything & when I say everything I mean bc I've helped them a few time's treating and cleaning. So what you just showed me are thing's we haven't thought of like taking the casings off & treating there or steaming. We've done the heating, spraying, powders, washing, cleaning and they've gotten rid of most of their furniture & can't get new until they know they are gone for good, still they survive some how they can't get rid of them. They've gotten on top of it but their still there hiding in places & b4 they know it they're starting the whole process over again. I would guess the least they've spent is $2,000 although I'm sure it's more $$$$! & more $$$ to come!😕😔🙁😓. I feel so bad for them bed bugs are horrific! Seriously their should be a horror movie about killer monster bed bugs😂. ... 15

@dillonfeast64078 years ago The good news is that they generally only feed every 5 or 6 days. The bad news is that they don't all have the same feeding schedule. I haven't seen a bed bug yet but I know they are biting me even when I'm awake because I always see their common three bump cluster after effect on my arm. The last treatment, I don't even think the guy really did anything because he's convinced that it's all in my had because they can't physically find them. However, I have a very dark house with very dark floors and furniture. I've shown them new blood spots on walls and furniture and pictures of blood spots on my sheets and pillows and pictures of bites on me and my children. I'm out of money, out of resources, and almost out if what is left of my sanity. This morning my baby girl had bites on her lip and nose in addition to her face and neck and It's killing me that I can't keep her and my other kids safe. I don't know what else to do. ... 10

@underwaterworlds59225 years ago I've been dealing with them for a few months now. I went to a concert in Dallas and stayed at a hotel and should have known better when I saw a dab of blood on the sheets the next morning but just figured it was lazy housekeeping. Anyway it's 3 in the morning and one just dropped off the ceiling right onto my computer desk. I bought a steamer and have been applying cimexa dust in common places which has definitely helped but I don't think it's going to get all of them. It's super embarrassing to have anyone over when they seem to pop up after weeks without seeing one just to show up for company. ... 11

@lindalattarulo46229 years ago I know it may sound weird but this is very depressing! I am a Senior lady who has a low immune system since I had cancer. I purchased a small, old, cheap, mobile home and it has been one problem after the other here. I had a flying infestation of "no see ems" and I had huge welts, bites and oozing sores. Now I have massive bites from bed bugs and I am so paranoid I am loosing sleep. I have NO money to invest in this problem. Heck I worry about paying the lights bill! I do not have the physical stamina to fight these little buggers! and they are gross. Last night I felt one on my leg, I reached down to scratch and I killed the bug and blood was everywhere, on my leg, my clothes, etc. I bought new pillows and there are spots of blood and bed bug doo-doo trailed all over the new pillows. Be careful of gifts of "free" throw pillows, mattresses, chairs or other items where they can live. Thank you for the info! ... 66

It was bad enough that my family had a very small budget AND it was my first year in college and I had all these expenses, I had to wait until early this year to purchase a steel framed futon.
