Community COVID-19 testing across Seattle area

UW Medicine has two mobile units offering COVID-19 tests in communities where data shows disproportionately high rates of COVID-19, specifically our Black, Latino, Pacific Islander, and limited-English-proficiency communities. No appointment is needed and the testing is at no cost to the individual. People are screened for symptoms and, if they are a candidate for the test, they will undergo a nasal swab. Locations: Rainier Beach High School - Wednesdays and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. South Seattle College - Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Auburn City Adventist Church - Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kent Public Health Center - Thursdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. UW Medicine is separately working with the City of Seattle on free COVID-19 testing at two other locations; UW Medicine virologists are processing samples collected at those sites. Community screenings are important to flatten the curve, but there are things we should continue to do every day. "All the things that we’ve been practicing have been the reason that we’ve been able to flatten the curve in Seattle and in the state of Washington," says Lisa Brandenburg, president of UW Medicine hospitals and clinics. "It’s important that we continue them, and that includes great hand hygiene, staying socially distant, and wearing a mask whenever you’re leaving home."
