I investigate and demonstrate how to increase the analogue bandwidth of a 100MHz Siglent SDS2102 oscilloscope to over 340MHz ! The same modification can be done for the SDS2202, SDS2104, and SDS2204 too, in theory. This modification is very similar on the 1000X and 2000X series as well apparently, but I haven't looked into that at all, this is according to the information on the EEVblog forum, some smart people had already figured out what needed to be done, I merely made a video of me performing the modification to my scope. I have been hoping for some time now that a high quality test equipment brand would send me a free high bandwidth high end scope for my channel, but so far I haven't been that lucky, apart from Keysight which had sent me a free DSOX1102G (100MHz) last year for its test to impress contest, which was great as it is a very nice scope! Sometimes I needed more bandwidth (and channels) though when repairing broken test equipment, so I began to investigate options for hacking my existing scopes, I researched the Siglent scope first as I have owned it for a few years and it is out of warranty anyway (the Keysight is too new, and still has 2 years of its 3 year warranty remaining). To see a followup video showing the maximum usable bandwidth the scope can now do, look at this: /watch/QR0C0zjf1W9fC Subscribe and click the Bell Icon to get notifications so you don't miss out on my future videos.
