What is a romano bean?
Romano beans are an Italian flat bean in the same family as garden variety string beans, which also counts fancy French haricots verts and yellow wax beans as siblings. They're broad and flat—as if someone accidentally sat on a giant string bean—with a juicy, sweet flavor and great crunch.
Is there another name for Romano beans?
It is also known as the cranberry bean, Roman bean, romano bean (not to be confused with the Italian flat bean, a green bean also called "romano bean"), saluggia bean, gadhra bean or rosecoco bean.
How long soak Romano beans?
Luckily, you've got other options: speed up the soaking process by covering the dried beans with water, bringing the water to a boil for 2–3 minutes, turning off the heat, covering the pot, and letting the beans soak for at least an hour and up to 4 hours. After that, just drain the beans and they're ready to cook

What is the difference between green beans and haricot verts?
"Haricot" means bean and "vert" means green in French. There is more difference between French green beans and typical American green beans than an unfamiliar term. Haricots verts are longer and thinner than American green bean varieties and tend to be more tender and have a more robust flavor. Are string beans the same as green beans?
